After a lengthy presentation and much discussion, including public input, the Wichita City Council voted 6-1 on Tuesday to deny a developer’s plan for affordable housing at WaterWalk. The discussion extended into the downtown development as a whole and the affordable apartments that an Indiana company wanted to build there. Several council members, including City Council member Mike Hoheisel (above), described the proposed project as a tough vote.
